6/11/01: Been a long time since the last update. I'm just bringing news that the new Aaliyah album drops July 17th, 2001. It's produced by: Aaliyah, Barry Hankerson and Jomo Hankerson. Timbaland only contributes a few tracks such as "We need a Resolution." I will update as more news surfaces!

5/19/01: I have heard the Missy album from front to end a few times now. It's really, really, really good. Timbaland's beats are nice as usually but Missy's really switched her style...again. There are a total of 30 tracks, 18 of them are songs, most are just 4 second blanks filled to hide the tracks. The bonus tracks include a gospel song with Mary Mary and other female MCs, many consider this to be a great bonus. As for the beats, many contain slight elements of techno and various electronic devices but the good rubber-band beats of Timbo are still here! If you got her album, you can check out her lyrics here, so far only "One minute man" and "Dog in heat" are posted but you can find more at OHHLA. If you still don't got her album, stop waiting! 4/21/01: New song from Aaliyah feat. Timbaland called, "WE NEED A RESOLUTION", it's gonna heat up really soon, I'm predicting top 10 in R&B and maybe reach a top 25 position in the overall Hot 100.

4/17/01: Sean Combs AKA P. Diddy and Jay-Z were arrested over Easter.

Missy's new album is already paying her due respect with her single "Get Ur Freak On which has shot to the Top 10 in sales (HIPHOP R&B SINGLES) and expect her Get Ure Freak On Remix with Nelly Furtado to be even hotter!

4/11/01: Timbaland recent said to Vibe, "My style is indescribable, so I don't try to describe it."

Timbaland just finished "Miss E: So Addictive" with Missy "Misdemeanor" Elliot. He produced Get Ure Freak On, new tracks with Ludacris, Ginuwine, Jay-Z and more! Be sure to check it in stores May 15th!

In case you didn't know, Timbaland's solo album (with Magoo, of course) is pushed back to sometime this month.

As for info, the official word is Aaliyah only has 3 cuts on her album that are produced by Timbaland, not bad considering Ginuwine completely dropped Timbaland on his last album "The Life." This album is definitely gonna be hot, pick it up today!

7/2/01: Aaliyah is on the cover of this month's VIBE magazine. Missy 'Misdemeanor' Elliott was on the VIBE cover just last month for the July issue! I'm hoping to see a Timbaland and Magoo cover soon. 8/3/01: Timbaland recently signed Bubba Sparks to his label "Beat Club" and the Georgia-white rapper is doing his thing with a new video "Ugly" and an album produced by Timbaland set to drop in September. 8/26/01: UPDATE: Here's a full list of the people who died in the incident: Scott Gallin, 41; Keith Wallace, 49, of Los Angeles; Douglas Kratz, 28, a representative for Virgin Records, and makeup artist Eric Foreman, 29, both of Hollywood, Calif.; Gina Smith, 29, of New Jersey; and Christopher Maldonado, 32, of New York. Anthony Dodd, 34, of Los Angeles, died at a Nassau hospital early Sunday morning. The plane's pilot, identified only as L. Marael, also was killed.

It hit me and millions of Aaliyah fans worldwide hard: Aaliyah died yesterday on August 25th, 2001 in a plane crash from a video shoot at the Bahamas. There were 8 other fatalities and their identities have not all surfaced. Included in the fatality list is Scott Gallin, Aaliyah's bodyguard. In the news, it is mentioned that the people who died were "Aaliyah's production crew." This can mean one of many things. Like many of you, I'm desperately trying to figure out if Timbaland was also at the video shoot. R Kelly, Aaliyah's ex narrowly escaped by leaving a day early from the video shoot. The video she was going to start in Miami was called "Rock the Boat" and it's not clear whether she was filming this video in the Bahamas. "Police were relying on handwritten cards filled out before the flight and were not sure about the spellings of the victims' names and did not have everyone's hometowns, said Assistant Superintendent Leland Russell" according to AP reporter Tim Aylen. I will keep you updated as more news is available on Monday.

+8/28/01: Still sad at the loss of Aaliyah. She was a talented artist and actor who will be missed by her fans everywhere. If you haven't, now is the time to pick up her latest album Aaliyahin stores now. The album will be a classic, as with all her albums and her last movie, Queen of the Damnned will also be out soon, support her and show your love by seeing it when it comes out! As for the Matrix Reloaded and Matrix 3 sequels, Aaliyah did some preproduction work but this does not gurantee her role(s) in the films but as for final products, the Matrix Reloaded will begin production this fall so Aaliyah cannot film it. I will keep you updated on this. For now, post your thoughts on Aaliyah's death on our message board and get your thoughts out to fans everywhere. As for Timbaland's thoughts, he's devastated (obviously) and he said to TRL yesterday that he would stop making songs for a while. Timbaland also claimed Aaliyah was like a sister to him. As for other stars' reactions, I've added an official statement made by Jet Li who is currently overseas for productions on his next film (not latest "The One" but "Hero")...he stated, "I heard of the devastating news and am deeply saddened that she is no longer with us. She was a wonderful and talented artist who will be missed by everyone whose lives she touched. I send my heartfelt regrets and condolences to her family, as well as, the family of Eric Foreman, whom I also knew." As for my site news: added 2 new Ginuwine pictures to Ginuwine gallery! As for the pilot of the plane Aaliyah was on (Twin-motor Cessna, possibly model 172R), the pilot was NOT authorized to fly that plane and the plane company/flight company has been cited 4 times for violations.

9/3/01: It's September. I've found a very informative article on Aaliyah's death. It covers phone calls to TRL from Timbaland, S. P-diddy's reaction and more. As you may know, the funeral was held last week in New York in a Roman Catholic Church. Many attended including Missy, P. Diddy, R. Kelly, Usher, Mya and many others. It's a very sad time for everyone in the music industry. If you want to share your reations/opinions, feel free to post them on my message board.

9/13/01: A tragedy gripped New York. I can only hope we will recover as a whole, the U.S.A. I'm still not over the tragic death of Aaliyah...she is still and will forever be missed be her fans worldwide. To see a tribute of Aaliyah, pick up the latest issue of Billboard magazine with Mariah Carey on the cover, it has a tribute to Aaliyah (1-page ad from Blackground Records) and many others who lost their lives on the tragic flight that was caused by overweight. 9/25/01: Well, I have some good news in light of all this...crummy dark events that's been going on. Timbaland and Magoo's sophmore album: "Indecent Proposal" has been given an OFFICIAL date, November 20th and I really don't think the Blackground/Virgin promo team are gonna push it back anymore but even if they do, there's the Bubba Sparxxx album "Dark Days Bright Nights" which comes out in about a week (10/9/01). 9/26/01: Just a small update/note: Timbaland produced song, Petey Pablo - "Raise Up" is #1 on Billboard radio "Rap" charts and Bubba Sparxxx's "Ugly" is #18 on the R&B-Hip Hop charts BUT it is the Greatest Gainer/Airplay! Since Petey's rising up and raised up with his success, I scanned a Vibe article on him. Check it out here.

10/21/01: Bought the latest Bubaa Sparxxx album. The Timbaland tracks are really tight, as all Timbo tracks are. My favorite is Bubba Talk. It has a Neptune feel to it. I guess the Neptunes got jacked (heh). If you haven't gotten it, get it now!

9/28/01: Timbaland and ...Dre? It might happen sonner than you think. According to MTV news, Timbaland and Dre have been talking about an compilation album for many artists with their beats on it. The two 'superproducers' are known worldwide with such artists behind them as: Aaliyah, Petey (soon to join BeatClub), Bubba Sparxxx, Missy Elliott, Ginuwine and more from Timba; Snoop Dogg, X-Z and many other westcoast hitters all with beats from Dre, who can all look forward to getting new beats from the two. Timbaland, with innovative, edgy, rock-electronic sounds is the perfect match for the ghetto-gangster, original sound of the west-coast Dre. If the two do do an album, look forward to a possible Diamond album! To read the whole article for yourself, click here! As for site news, I fixed an error with the Aaliyah galleries. The twelve new pictures that were uploaded last night were inaccessible because of an mistake on my part. In short, my bad-- go check it out now! 12/7/01: What's up y'all. I haven't updated in a while cuzz I had a car accident. I ain't hurting no more but it was a lil' scary and it took a while for me to realize what happened. Anyways, the T&M album is out, I got it and it's GREAT. You must get the album if you haven't cuzz the tracks on it - about 18 of them (with 3 interludes) are all very nice. The clip you're hearing now is called, "Indian Carpet"...if it sounds good, wacha waiting for?? Go get the album now!!

1/9/02: HAPPY NEW YEAR! This is the first update of 2002... First, BillBoard published the top HipHop/R&B Producers of 2001 in the "Year In Review" issue and Timbaland came in at #2 with 14 songs produced that have made it to the charts (top 100). Dr. Dre came in at #7 with 10 songs and the first place was taken by The Neptunes with 21 songs!! Timbaland AKA Timothy Mosley (His pen name) came in at #2 in the top HipHop/R&B song writers! R Kelly is #1 with and Missy came in at #11.

3/23/02: Okay, this is the first update for months, I know....but I don't think this will happen again, ever. Ms. Jade's (on Timbo's Beat Club records) single "Feel The Girl" is climbing up the charts fast. Tweet's single "Oh My" has been at the #1 HipHop/R&B singles charts for 2 weeks! Timbaland is coming back with his singles mayhem again but did you know Indecent Proposal (First album to the right didn't even go gold yet?) I think it's obvious why Timbo's pissed at making albums...he was quoted, "The song I have with Aaliyah. ... It's me, really. It's me, Aaliyah and Static from Playa," and that the song will "shock the world," adding, "It's probably the biggest song I ever did." I think if it's the biggest he's ever done, it should go at least double platinum like Jay-Z's third effort, The Life and Times of... which was BOOTLEGGED and still went 2x platinum (and over).

2/4/02: $hit happens. Aaliyah dies, Twin Towers bombed by a f*cked up turban-wearing mofo and then I had my car accident so 2001 was definitely a CRAPPYA$$ year. Alright, life does go on and Aaliyah's last movie (Matrix 2 doesn't count) is coming out in less than 3 weeks! Anne Rice's Queen of the Damned hits theatres EVERYWHERE Feburary 22nd, 2002! The movie is based on Anne Rice's best selling book series on vampires...I guess seeing Aaliyan as a vampire is better than not seeing her at all...This movie may immortalize her as the youngest R&B top charting performer with a #1 movie! Go support Aaliyah by seeing this intriguing suspense thriller.

3/31/02: Timbaland was quoted today, "It's not that I don't want to work with the man (magoo), it's just that we've been doing this for a while now and no good has ever come out of it." Timbaland was asked to express his reactions on his latest album with long time friend and partner in crime, Magoo, entitled, "Indecent Proposal." The album has been released over five months ago and has not even sold 500,000 copies. A shocking revelation considering Timbaland's talents and Blackground's efforts to perpetuate the album. Timbaland also stated, "If they try to get me in the recording room to do ANOTHER album, there's no way I'm doing it." For more on Timbaland's thoughts and Magoo's reactions, click here. 4/23/02: Rumor has it that Ginuwine will be working with Timbaland again for his next album. Timbaland didn't work with Ginuwine on his last album, "The Life" because Ginuwine wanted to find a new style...and although it's sad to say, his plan somewhat turned out good, Ginuwine's "The Life" sold over 500,000 copies (certified gold). This tidbit isn't OFFICIAL but Timbaland has been spotted in the studio working with Ginuwine again. Although it could be for a single, it is likely that Timbaland will be working with Ginuwine again on his next album also.
4/17/02: Although not really a Timbo-album, I still recommend Tweet's latest album: "Southern Hummingbird". It's got some good Timbaland beats but since it's not enough, I'm not gonna go much into it. But, if you like the sample loop you hear right now (if you're visiting April 17th), go get the album! Tracks like "Call Me," "Sexual Healing," and "Oops...Oh My" should not be missed.

4/30/02: No news can top this: Dr. Dre and Eminem disses Jermaine Dupri on Em's latest track, "Without Me," there is a B-side that contains a song in which Dre and Eminem rap: "What about Jermaine?" (Em), to which Dre replies: "F*ck Jermaine, he don't belong speaking mine or Timbaland's name." Yes, OUCH. It all started when Jermaine Dupri said Timbaland and Dre [and Puffy] can't "do what he does." This got Dre AND Timbaland mad. According to the article from MTV NEWS, Timbo and Dre (who are reportedly working together on an album), have gotten so mad that they've thought about creating a diss song for Jermaine who 'started' this 'friendly competitive' taunt. 4/25/02: A correction for the last update: Ginuwine's "The Life" has sold more than 1,000,000 copies, not 500,000 as stated earlier. Launch.com has an EXCLUSIVE interview with Timbaland. 7/16/02: Finally! I'm back from a looooong @$$ hiatus and this site will hopefully run continously til' the end of the year... But I got back just in time to see all the Timbaland haters. If you don't know what I'm talking about, just take a look at the results for the recent "favorite producer" poll right here. I know you people are voting for Dre and others on purpose but it's okay...there's HATERS no matter where you go... Ginuwine is definitely doing his thing on "I Need A Girl Pt. 2". It reminds us what he used to be able to do on good beats (like Timbo's) but if you're waiting on his new record, it's coming. I haven't been online in a while so I don't have any new loops for any of my pages. I will try to keep you up to date on Timbo and other hip-hop headlines so keep checkin' back here. 7/20/02: I just found out but it's been around the news for a while now: Aaliyah's pilot had cocaine and alcohol in him! This is just really sad. If it was some plane accident then it's all good but some (probably unlicensed) pilot literally murdered her. The guy was in court for cocaine posession twelve days before the accident and he was flying not even 2 weeks later. Read the full article here. The poll below is an ongoing poll. 9/04/02: I'm back from a lil' short break I took again. I'm just kickin' back and enjoying the last few days of summer...before school starts again. Anyway, I got the results from the 8th Annual Soul Train Lady of Soul awards. Aaliyah was nominated for: Best R&B/Soul Single, Solo; Best R&B Album, Solo; R&B Soul/Rap Song of the Year, and Best Rap/R&B Video, Solo. She won the Best R&B/Soul Single, Solo and Song of the Year. Missy won Best R&B/Soul or Rap video and Tweet was nominated for Best R&B/Soul or Rap New Artist. Aaliyah was nominated for MTV 2002 Music Video Awards' Best R&B Music Video and Missy for the Best Hip-Hop Music Video.
8/23/02: Aaliyah tribute all this week. Aaliyah's plane went down on August 25th last year. Can you believe it's been a year already? And in mid-September, there's yet another dreaded date... So much happened last year. But it's cool because nothing major happened (at least in the States) this year. Please vote for the "Best Timbaland-Aaliyah collaboration" poll above!

8/15/02: With DMX, it's either love or hate. However, at Funkmaster Flex's hip-hop car show recently, DMX brought in an older Chevy Impala (64' - 65' model) with a picture of Aaliyah spray painted on the hood. His aim is to have a fly and still 'hood' ride and it's tight because while he was remembering Aaliyah with it, other rappers, mainly Wyclef, Busta and Stunna (Big Tymers) were ridin' on $100,000+ rides like Ferraris, Lamborghinis and Benzes. See, DMX ain't all hardcore... Bubba Sparxxx ("Hungry") and Petey Pablo ("Que La Cosa") contributed to the "Undisputed" soundtrack, which stars Ving Rhamesand Wesley Snipes. The soundtrack is on Cash Money Records!!
8/5/02: Added Miss Jade and Tweet galleries. They both contain over 10 pictures of the new and rising artists! Added over 10 pictures to the Timbaland gallery. 8/02/02: Aaliyah is remembered in this Vibe article. It seems just like yesterday that the August issue of Vibe magazine landed in my mailbox. I opened the plastic wrapping and read the whole article by the mailbox. I don't know what's more ironic, her dying the same month she was featured in Vibe or that not more than two weeks after her death, the twin towers came down by terrorist plane bombings. No matter what anybody says now, Aaliyah's gone, 2001 was HORRIBLE and we're 3/4 through 2002 now. The only thing to do is to look ahead and even though new talent like Ashanti and the ever-so-nasty Khia won't replace Aaliyah, hip hop will stay alive forever and it's only because of contributions from talented people like Aaliyah. And about this site, I can't believe I've been online with this page (and the rest of my site) for over a YEAR now. It seems just like yesterday, I was searching for new pictures for this site (and yes, most of my pix aren't duplicated). It's really been tight doing this site. Thanks for visiting and supporting this site!
8/01/02: DMX is getting heated up. After several lashes at Ja Rule for 'biting' his style, DMX is finally out with a DISS record aimed at Ja. It's gonna be on his next album which will debut in December (Source: MTV News). I don't mean to hate on Ja Rule and his style is pretty tight now but remember the "Holla" days? Remember the music video. His bandana and his style really resembled someone...like Pac?? After a while, he and ex-partner in rhyme DMX were close but according to D, Ja has gone "too hollywood." Let's just watch where this is going.....

7/30/02: Added guestbook for those who wish to sign to express how they feel about Aaliyah (it will be a year since her death in August). I'm getting ready to make this page more than just a Timbaland-and the camp news/events page. The beats will remain Timbaland. The pictures will still be there for Aaliyah and Timbaland but there will be an assortment of hip-hop news in this area so keep this page bookmarked and I'll be updating you with the latest news on hip hop music and more. 9/04/02: I'm back from a lil' short break I took again. I'm just kickin' back and enjoying the last few days of summer...before school starts again. Anyway, I got the results from the 8th Annual Soul Train Lady of Soul awards. Aaliyah was nominated for: Best R&B/Soul Single, Solo; Best R&B Album, Solo; R&B Soul/Rap Song of the Year, and Best Rap/R&B Video, Solo. She won the Best R&B/Soul Single, Solo and Song of the Year. Missy won Best R&B/Soul or Rap video and Tweet was nominated for Best R&B/Soul or Rap New Artist. Aaliyah was nominated for MTV 2002 Music Video Awards' Best R&B Music Video and Missy for the Best Hip-Hop Music Video.
8/23/02: Aaliyah tribute all this week. Aaliyah's plane went down on August 25th last year. Can you believe it's been a year already? And in mid-September, there's yet another dreaded date... So much happened last year. But it's cool because nothing major happened (at least in the States) this year. Please vote for the "Best Timbaland-Aaliyah collaboration" poll above!

8/15/02: With DMX, it's either love or hate. However, at Funkmaster Flex's hip-hop car show recently, DMX brought in an older Chevy Impala (64' - 65' model) with a picture of Aaliyah spray painted on the hood. His aim is to have a fly and still 'hood' ride and it's tight because while he was remembering Aaliyah with it, other rappers, mainly Wyclef, Busta and Stunna (Big Tymers) were ridin' on $100,000+ rides like Ferraris, Lamborghinis and Benzes. See, DMX ain't all hardcore... Bubba Sparxxx ("Hungry") and Petey Pablo ("Que La Cosa") contributed to the "Undisputed" soundtrack, which stars Ving Rhamesand Wesley Snipes. The soundtrack is on Cash Money Records!!
